We thoroughly enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit at the Gadsden Center for Cultural Arts today. We created unique dinosaurs of our own design, listened to presentations about several dinosaurs including both plant and meat eaters. We also played in the dramatic play areas: firehouse, kitchen, doctor's office, store and ball pit. Lots of fun was had with friends today!

Transportation Day
We had a fun Transportation Day today! The best part was listening to the children's questions. We have been discussing how important it is to "listen", "look" and "think" before asking a question. We are learning to sift through information and clarify details.

Just my thoughts today...
As a teacher, we face the pressure of spending many, many hours with students. They get used to us and we get used to them. Some of them come from homes that most teachers that I know cannot imagine. Homes that lack safety, love, security, acceptance really do exist. These kids look for something on a different level from us that kids from normal homes do not. They want to be understood. They want love and acceptance. They want to be important and special. Today, I was reminded of the power of humor in the classroom. Teasing them, getting them to giggle - it's so powerful! That anger they so often showcase in the classroom melts away. They are human. Humor invites a human connection. Today was a good day!😊. I am very happy to be a teacher.
